Detailed Information on Our Black Hereford Cattle
This Cow is the matriarch of the Hereford side of our Black Hereford cattle, reg. #43290330. When we bought her from Thomas Herefords in Gold Creek Montana, we flushed her to excellent Angus bulls that I believe complimented her EPD’s to produce superior F1 Black Hereford heifers. We then let her “be a cow” and have a natural calf. This photo was taken November 10, 2024 after weaning a beautiful almost all black heifer at age 13.
We are now flushing this cow to our own Black Hereford bulls. Shirley, as we affectionately call her, is also the dame to the bull KT Small Town Kid 5051, registration #43621412.
This Bull is our Hereford patriarch. We use him on our F1 heifers to get 75% Black Herefords. His reg. #P44369057. We do have semen available on him. His actual birth weight was 76#, actual weaning weight was 869#. We brought him home April 10, 2023 and he weighed 1485#. He is in the top 10% of thirteen EPD’s and in the top 15% of 15 EPD’s. As you can see in the picture he also has a great phenotype!
We have a very limited amount of bull and heifer calves for sale because we are still growing our herd.
